Thank God for People Who Still Take a Stand
Look, I’m not one to often make public remarks about politically-charged situations. And I try hard to keep the focus and purpose of this blogsite on worship of our awesome God.
So, why have I posted an article like this on a blogsite about praise? you may ask. It’s simple: I PRAISE GOD for people who are still willing to take a stand for Biblical values, despite what may be “politically correct” and popular. Not many folk in this guy’s position will take such a stand anymore. General Pace needs our prayers and support. I strongly believe that one way we can “show forth His praises” (I Peter 2:9) is to stand firm on our convictions. I don’t know much about General Pace, but from what I have read, it seems he was doing that very thing – simply standing up for his convictions and beliefs…
Below is an email I just received from the American Family Association:
Homosexual activists want Marine General Peter Pace forced out of the service because he called sex between two homosexuals immoral.
Exactly what did General Pace say which upset the homosexual leaders? “I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts. I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way.
“I would not want acceptance of overt homosexual behavior to be our policy, just like I would not want it to be our policy that if we were to find out that so-and-so was sleeping with somebody else’s wife, that we would just look the other way, which we do not. We prosecute that kind of immoral behavior”
Homosexual leaders said that General Pace’s comments were “insulting and offensive to the men and women who are serving in the military honorably.” Homosexual groups are putting tremendous pressure on Congressmen and Senators and President Bush to punish General Pace. The liberal media is strongly supporting the homosexual efforts. They have already forced him to back down a step.
Presently the military operates on a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. The homosexual activists want the military to approve their immoral behavior. Take a stand for our troops who cannot get involved in this political situation!
Take Action
Send an email to President Bush, who is the commander-in-chief of our armed forces. Ask President Bush to praise General Pace for upholding military law.
Urgent: Send Your Email To President Bush
