Missions

Purpose and Overview:

NLW International has been working in Kenya for the past 8 years. We have a large and trusted network of pastors and church leaders there. We have been invited by churches from several denominations to lead a Mega Intensive School in the western part of Kenya. We anticipate close to 200 pastors, worship leaders and children’s workers to attend from Kenya and surrounding nations. We need pastors, worship leaders and children’s leaders to come with us to help train the local leaders during our 5-day school. We also need people and groups to help lead Worship Bible Schools in local villages.

What will our team be doing?

In general, we will be training pastors, worship leaders, and children’s workers from churches in and around Kenya. Depending on each team member’s strengths and the needs we have, some team members may help play and sing in the main sessions. Others may help lead break-out sessions for pastors, worship leaders, children’s workers, or tech-related leaders. Some will also go out and lead Worship Bible Schools, helping with crafts, games, songs, or Bible stories. In addition to the time during the week of school and WBS, our missions team will also attend church services in the area on Sunday. Some may have the opportunity to speak, preach, testify and/or sing during the services. Sightseeing and souvenir shopping is also included in the schedule.

Who is needed on this trip:

We need pastors, worship leaders, tech crew people, and children’s workers. Please let us know if you want to bring others from your church. We would love to add them in, if we have the room and need.

Schedule:

Monday:
Begin flights to Africa

Tuesday:
Arrive into Nairobi, Kenya

Wednesday: Sightsee in Nairobi at Kenya National Park

Thursday:
AM: Fly to western Kenya
Afternoon: Orientation and preparations
Sight-visits to the WBS sites and school venue

Friday:
Begin Intensive School

Saturday:
Intensive School continues
WBS begins in villages

Sunday:
AM — Team members in various churches in the local area (Some travel may be needed to reach distant destinations.)
Afternoon —
WBS in villages and classes at Intensive School resume

Monday-Tuesday:
Intensive School and WBS continues

Wednesday:
Fly home

What does my cost include?​

The registration fee covers your participation as a team member for the School and WBS. Your in-country transportation, meals, and hotel are also included. You will need to cover your flight costs, as well as costs for your visa, souvenirs and other personal things.

Pre-Trip Training Material:

We provide training sessions, trip overview documents, assistance from our team of mission trip experts, and communication with in-country missionaries to make sure your group is fully prepared for your trip.

Pre-trip Devotionals:

This missions journal will help every team member prepare well and encounter Christ in their own times with Him.

Supplemental Traveler’s Insurance:

In the event of a medical emergency, you can opt to be covered with an international policy (at an additional cost to you).

NOTE: Airfare is not included in the trip cost, but will be taken care of by NLW International’s travel agent who can sometimes get humanitarian rates and free baggage. You may book on your own if you prefer to do so, but we ask to approve the itinerary first.
